DENMARK
I was born in DENMARK and lived there most of my life. It's a beautiful country, and I still go there very often. The one thing I miss about Denmark is THE SEA! Nowhere in this country of mine will you be more than maximum 50 km from the sea. The west coast of Jutland is windy, rough, and beautiful with the most fantastic beaches and dunes. The eastern coasts are milder, different. And the islands! there are dozens of them, some connected with bridges, others still serviced by ferries.
COPENHAGEN
Capital of Denmark, a little more than 1 mill. inhabitants. Copenhagen has a long history which goes back more than 800 years, but most of the old Copenhagen was built in the 17th and 18th century near the harbor. In recent years all industry and harbor activities have moved further out of Copenhagen, and in stead many new residential quarters as well as hotels, offices and shopping centers have been built along the water front.
I love the unique blend of ancient and bold modern architecture - and the presence of the water everywhere in the center of Copenhagen.
